I’m
Dr. Robert Soloway. My Ph.D. is in
Cognitive Psychology, from Emory University.
Cognitive Psychology is the field that investigates human functions
like, Memory, Attention, Perception, and Motor Skill Behavior, all incredibly
important in tennis. I was fortunate
enough to have worked with the man considered the “Father” of Cognitive
Psychology. He had many interesting
theories about motor skill behavior, but much of the research centered on
laboratory “sports” like dart throwing, or foul shooting, skills that are easy
to score and produce statistics. No one
however, was trying to apply the knowledge to actual sports. That’s what I have done.
In
addition, I became familiar with the ancient approaches to motor skills, as
demonstrated by activities like Kung Fu or Karate. We know their training is different from that of Western
athletes, and that it makes participants very skilled, but also confident,
calm, and highly concentrated.
I
have combined ancient knowledge and Western science to create training products
and services that develop the total player.
My book, Tennis in the New Age, takes you on an imaginary weekend to a fictitious Tennis Training Academy. Here you observe the lectures and hitting sessions given to the visitors and have revealed for you the techniques designed to develop the player’s attitude, visual focus and mental concentration. The techniques also develop confidence and reduce nervous anxiety.
The
video, Seeing the Ball, is specifically designed for the 98% of players, even
some very highly ranked players, who don’t watch the ball well. Most players are told to try to watch the
ball all the way to the strings. That’s
very good advice, BUT, has anyone ever bothered to show you how???
Learn
the secrets to watching the ball.
Dr.
Robert Soloway will show you how most people develop bad visual habits and are
destined never to be good ball watchers.
He will show you why some people who are attempting to watch the ball
become almost blind when the ball gets to be a few feet in front of them. Dr. Soloway will explain why ordering
your eyes to watch the ball is ridiculous.
He will then teach you what you can do to “require” your eyes to
watch the ball.
These
secrets and more are clearly demonstrated in this well filmed and entertaining
video. You may notice a marked
improvement in your game almost immediately.
Opponents who now give you a challenging match, will wonder what happened.
Don’t
waste time and money trying to improve your tennis if you aren’t seeing the
ball well. This video is a must.
